Carden Preschool provides an environment that recognizes each child as a distinct, unique individual with special gifts. The preschool child is guided and encouraged to make decisions, make choices, develop self-discipline, learn to become considerate of others, learn to work productively alone and with others, attempt new activities, and to help others. Emphasis is placed on encouraging a positive self-esteem, developing independence and meeting the child’s mental, physical, emotional needs.


Our preschool program encourages growth and learning through:

ELIGIBILITY

The school is open to all children of the community, regardless of race, religion, or nationality. Children ages 6weeks thru 6 years may enroll in the program.


REGISTRATION

An enrollment form must be submitted for each child along with a non-refundable $125.00 enrollment fee. In addition to the enrollment form, the following must be submitted for each child: Family Health History, Physician’s Forms, Immunization Records and Verification of TB Test.


HEALTH AND SAFETY

ILLNESS - State law prohibits the school to accept sick children. We ask your cooperation in keeping children home whenever they show signs of illness. If a child contracts a contagious disease, you must obtain a permit to return to school from a physician or the County Health Department


ADMISSION POLICY

Children must be in good general health to enter the school. Children will be admitted after a determination is made by the school that the child is ready for a group experience in a Preschool.


ALL CHILDREN WILL BE ENROLLED A TEMPORARY TRIAL BASIS

If within the first month it is determined that the child is not ready for a group experience, the parents will be notified that the child may not remain in the school.


EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM

Daycare is available before and after school to include the hours between 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Daycare charges is $5.00 per hour or each fraction thereof.


HOLIDAYS

The school closes on New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Veterans’ Day, Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday, and Christmas Day.


SUMMER SCHOOL

We offer a summer program during the months July and August. Our program includes water play, movies, hot dog parties, etc.


MEDICINES

Children will only be administered medicine prescribed by a doctor. Over-the-counter medication will not be administered to the children.


CLOTHING

All children should come to school neat and clean, preferably in clothing that paint, sand, and other preschool activities will not ruin. Children must wear sturdy shoes with soles that have traction. UNACCEPTABLE SHOES - sandals, thongs, jellies. Overalls, jumpsuits, pants with snaps, etc., often present real problems for the children when going to the bathroom. Therefore, please select all clothing carefully so that the children can readily dress and undress themselves when going to the bathroom. It is recommended that parents keep an extra set of clothing in their child’s cubby. Please label all of your child’s belongings.


REFUND POLICY

Tuition refunds will NOT be made. Full month’s tuition is due whether you attend the entire month or not. Children who have extended illnesses or go on vacation will be charged half their tuition rate for the following month to hold their spot. 


NAPS

Each full day child will have a rest period. Please send a blanket and crib sheet for your child to use for naps. Please label with child’s name. Blankets and crib sheets are to be sent home each week for laundry. Please return on Mondays.


LUNCH AND SNACKS

Full-day children need to bring their lunch and all children should bring a mid-morning nutritional snack.


SIGN-IN - SIGN-OUT SHEET

State law requires that all preschool children must be signed in and out of school daily. This would be by a parent, guardian or designated person.



CHILDREN WILL BE ENROLLED A TEMPORARY TRIAL BASIS

LATE FEES - A late fee of $35.00 will be charged for payment made after the 5th of the month. Tuition is due on the 1st of the month.


RETURNED CHECK FEE - A fee of $25.00 will be charged for each returned check.


AFTER-HOUR CHILD CARE - If your child remains at school past 6:00 p.m., late charges of $1.00 per 1 minute will be charged. REMEMBER - OVERTIME IS FOR EMERGENCY USE ONLY.


REGISTRATION/MATERIAL FEE - Registration fee for new students is $125.00. This fee is non-refundable unless the child is not accepted by the school. Registration fee for siblings not previously enrolled is $75.00. An annual material fee of $75.00 is due at registration. Tuition refund will not be made for absences from class due to illness or other circumstances.


WITHDRAWAL FROM SCHOOL - Two weeks advance notice is required prior to withdrawal or tuition will be charged equal to one-half month’s tuition fee.
